TatoHub.Kyiv is an online platform that uses a Facebook group as the main channel of communication and interaction for its members. In addition, TatoHub offers individual and group psychological counseling, family educational and entertainment activities.

The article focuses on Oleh, a young father who stayed in Bucha with his pregnant wife while the city was occupied. Oleh values fatherhood very much and strives to be the best father he can be. He is also a big supporter of TatoHub.

Our main character recently became a father - his son is only 10 months old. Therefore, the man is already responsible and conscious about his role as a father.

I've been preparing for parenthood for a long time, and I came across your TatoHub group on Facebook. As I am a very social person and travel a lot on Facebook, I liked and subscribed, and then I saw that there were some mutual friends there and I became interested, - comments Oleh.

A year before he became a father, the man had already studied useful materials on TatoHub. Later, Oleh joined a dads' club in Kyiv.

Currently, his son is less than a year old and cannot yet participate in activities and events, so his father is mostly involved on Facebook - watching, commenting, reposting and inviting friends and acquaintances. "So far, about 25 people have already joined thanks to my invitation," Oleh says.

For the hero of our story, TatoHub is a modern, meaningful source of information. "I owe it to this group because I can get only what I need and want from it without unnecessary airtime garbage," he adds. Most of all, the dad likes the lectures of the psychologist who teaches at TatoHub. They are particularly informative and engaging, and the man is already starting to use the knowledge and advice in raising his child.

"At TatoHub, I found myself as a young dad. This is very important to me and I want it to develop even more. I wish that in addition to such local offline meetings, it would be possible to communicate virtually with participants from different regions and cities of Ukraine."

Psychologists advise young and expectant parents to acquire knowledge, at least theoretical knowledge, about raising children in advance. After all, being prepared in all possible forms for the birth of a child and fatherhood gives more confidence in the future, in one's abilities to take care of the child. In addition, preliminary readiness develops the concept of conscious parenthood, which will help build a healthy and harmonious relationship with the child.

Oleh also adds that he gets help from a psychologist: "I can always ask for any advice and get a comprehensive answer - that's the most important thing. Because I have a lot of questions - how to do something, how to combine different aspects in raising my son."

TatoHub psychologists are approached with various requests, and these problems and questions change depending on the current social context. "At first, we started with the coronavirus, then the war broke out, so this is reflected in the various issues. Each stage in social events is reflected in the requests. We also had interesting activities - I ran stabilization and support groups in Kyiv, we met with a group of people every week, discussed various issues, meditated, sang, and so on," - says Yevhen Hrechanyk, psychologist at TatoHub.Kyiv.

The project TatoHub.Kyiv was initiated in the framework of the “EU 4 Gender Equality: Together against gender stereotypes and gender-based violence" programme, funded by the European Union, implemented jointly by UN Women and UNFPA.
