From September 24 to October 2, 2018, a series of trainings "Creating Non-Discriminatory Educational Content" took place in Kharkiv with the participation of publishers and author's teams that create school textbooks. The event was organized by the UNFPA Representative Office in Ukraine, EDCamp Ukraine NGO, "Gender Information and Analytical Center "KRONA" NGO, State Educational Institution "Educational and Methodological Center for Education Quality", Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, State Research Institution "Institute for the Education Content Modernization", Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

The main goal of the training is to set up "anti-discrimination perspective" among those who are actually involved in text-book making (and here were 51 such participant) - first of all, authors, designers, and editorial staff in various publishing houses. There were 9 publishing houses - about 40% of all publishers currently working on the market of school textbooks.

Iryna Matsiyenko, participant of the training, head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Education of the Vinnytsya Academy of Continued Education, tells, "I felt that I lacked knowledge, perhaps the time, to find answers to these questions. And when I saw the subject of this training, I was pleased to fill out this registration form here. This is an event that I think has shaped my professional life to certain extent, I would like to continue to work on this topic."

In 2019, similar training events for publishing houses and authors' collectives will continue.
