Today, on September 26th, we celebrate World Contraception Day when we highlight the use of contraception as taking care of your sexual reproductive health, and it’s importance as one of the methods of family planning.

UNFPA, United Nations sexual and reproductive health agency plays a pivotal role in addressing family planning. It is the largest supplier of donated contraceptives in Ukraine.

Today, the UNFPA has provided 103 healthcare facilities is with condoms in Ukraine. There are plans to expand the provision to 10.5 million different forms of contraceptives.

"In light of the current situation in Ukraine, the UNFPA is making maximum efforts to ensure that every pregnancy is desired and planned. Contraceptives are a vital component of public health and planned pregnancies. Ensuring access to contraceptives contributes to reducing the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV, improving women's health, and supporting sustainable societal development and overall well-being," said the Dr. Bohdan Pidverbetskyy Reproductive Health Analyst UNFPA Ukraine.

Let's encourage open and informed conversations about contraception, break the stigmatization, and empower individuals to their health.
