The winners of the Healthy Challenge 2020 Programme aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people were announced. 12,000 active young people from more than 40 pre-higher and vocational and technical education institutions from different parts of Ukraine joined the programme.

Healthy Challenge is an all-Ukrainian Programme aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, which has been implemented since 2019 and has already involved in its activities more than 20 education institutions and 10,000 young people in different regions of Ukraine. The purpose of the Programme is to promote a healthy lifestyle during quarantine introduced due to the spread of COVID-19.

Healthy Challenge 2020 took place in November-December 2020 and covered 42 education institutions in the Zakarpattia, Lviv, Volyn, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Khmelnytsky, Chernihiv and Cherkasy Oblasts.

The organizers of #HealthyChallenge2020 Programme and flash mob are expert organization Center for CSR Development together with UNFPA. The Programme partners are the Center for Public Health of Ukraine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

“Participants of the Healthy Challenge 2020 Programme conducted more than 100 different types of activities, including social flash mobs, master classes on nutrition, sports competitions, quests, games, contests and more. All these activities foster a culture of healthy lifestyle among young people studying in vocational technical education institutions”, said Taras Derkach, Coordinator of the Healthy Challenge 2020 Programme.

The institutions that participated in the Healthy Challenge 2020 Programme competed by activities during three thematic weeks: infectious disease prevention, physical health and mental health. The jury evaluated the quality results of activities and their impact on young people, the number of events and participants, creativity, innovation, the availability and dissemination of photos and videos about the activities.

The winners of the Programme were three institutions that showed the best results:

Higher Vocational School # 7, Kremenchuk (Poltava Oblast)

Lviv Higher Vocational School of Food Technology (Lviv)

Kolkiv Higher Vocational School (Volyn Oblast)

Rava-Ruska Vocational Lyceum (Lviv Oblast).

The winning institutions will receive mini-grants in the amount of UAH 35,000 for the development of a healthy lifestyle movement.

The Audience Choice Award – the “Antivirus” kit (recirculators, thermometers and sanitizers) – was won by the state vocational and technical school Dubrovytsia Vocational Lyceum (Rivne Oblast).
