June 11, 2013 – UNFPA Representative in Ukraine Ms. Nuzhat Ehsan held a working meeting with Head of the Office of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Mr. Bogdan Kryklyvenko.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the issues of gender equality, health care system reform with a focus on women’s reproductive health, as well as protection of rights of older persons in Ukraine.
The parties agreed on formalizing their common efforts in a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Office of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights and the UNFPA Country Office in Ukraine.
Considering the main areas of UNFPA activities, namely reproductive health, population and development, gender equality and women’s empowerment, will be in the focus of the future cooperation.
