Creating Non-Discriminatory Educational Content, a training programme for publishers and author teams, was held.
Its unique feature was that all the participants worked at Ranok Publishing House or created textual or visual content for them. All examples that were analysed during the training were taken from the textbooks of this publisher.
During the two-day session, the participants listened to lectures on anti-discrimination expertise of textbooks and put them into practice. In particular, they analysed what discrimination is and where it can be found in textbooks. What is gender-based discrimination? What is non-discriminatory language?
The training programme took place as part of the Springboard to Equality project implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Ukraine.
We are grateful to our partners, EdCamp Ukraine, whose support made the training possible.
The training was funded by the Swedish Embassy in Ukraine.
