 June 26, 2013 - A training workshop for journalists “Family planning in Ukraine” took place at the Uzhgorod Press Club today organized by USAID funded project "Healthy Women of Ukraine" in cooperation with UNFPA in Ukraine. The workshop was attended by the local media representatives, members of the Press Club and students.

The program of the event featured a training session by Viktoria Verenych, MD, gynecologist-endocrinologist, “Medical aspects of family planning” and two training sessions by Iryna Kurilo, Head, Demographical Processes Department, the Institute for Demography and Social Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, “Demography Trends in Ukraine” and “Statistics Data Application and Interpretation in Mass Media Publications”.

The workshop was aimed at raising awareness of Zakarpattya region media representatives of the demographical situation in Ukraine and factors that are influencing the future of population, as well as facilitating public access to information on family planning and reproductive health.
