Lviv, November 3, 2018 - The first Skills Lab program for youth has been completed for the development of skills in the areas of successful professional self-actualization and self-employment. The program is implemented by the CSR Development Center and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.
The Skills Lab special program is created by specialists to develop and improve the skills that are necessary for young people in two areas: their own business and a successful career. Participants in the two topical groups receive training and workshops in soft skills from the signatories of the Pact for Youth - Lifecell, Syngenta, Nestle, Oschadbank and local employers. For the successful completion of the program, the participants had to present their own projects that they had developed during the #SkillsLab period at the Lviv Oblast Youth Center. The "successful career" area envisages social projects for the city and the community, and "own business" features business projects for self-employment.
At the end of the curriculum, the Chairman of Lviv Regional State Administration Oleh Synyutka and the Director of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the Lviv Oblast State Administration Andriy Kovalskyi welcomed the presentation. The oblast leader motivated the participants to move forward and in any case implement their plans, and also declared that the relevant department and the youth center are ready to provide financial and other additional resources to implement at least three projects.
At the final meeting, some of the participants have already demonstrated products or services of their own production, and participation in the Skills Lab program has helped them better understand how to conduct their own business and build a career. Among the participant projects, Yelizaveta Byurger has turned her own hobby into the production and sale of interior items and jewelry of epoxy resin.
Bohdana Hayduk has developed the concept of baking diabetic sweets for the "Candy bar", while Volodymyr Tsvyk has developed his own online course "Online school of mobile photo" on photo processing for social media.
Among the social projects, the animated series "Petryk" by Yuliya Levchuk is worth mentioning, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle as a part of the teenage culture.
