On 3-7 November, the seminar "Principles of "friendly approach" in providing health care to adolescents and youth" for professionals of primary health care is organized in Kyiv by the United Nations Population Fund.
This is the seventh seminar organized by UNFPA in cooperation with the Ministry of Health on this topic and is designed for physicians of primary health care centers, centers / branches / offices of health care for adolescents and young people (Youth-friendly Clinics), family planning centers.
During 5 days of the seminar the participants will obtain knowledge and skills on a "friendly approach" in providing health care, especially in counseling adolescents on reproductive health and family planning, as well as will become familiar with the guidelines "Current models of medical care for adolescents and young people in different clinical situations".
All participants will receive this manual and the manual for family planning. Overall, during 2014, similar seminars were organized in Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions, where around 200 people were trained on the principles of "friendly approach".
In the future, UNFPA plans to support implementation of this curriculum in the program of training and retraining of family doctors and nurses in Ukraine.
