CSR Ukraine, an expert organization Center for CSR Development, Career Hub and UNFPA in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine opened a comprehensive practical online course ‘Career Counseling for Youth Centers’. More than 50 youth workers applied for the course.
The course is aimed to assist Youth Centers in developing vocational guidance, employment and career counseling for young people. The course provides theoretical knowledge and practical tools for addressing various career needs of young people: vocational guidance, job search, career development and crisis management.
The training is free and comprises 12 online workshops and 5 supervisions. The classes will be held from November 16 to December 19. Participants were selected on the basis of motivation and willingness to provide counseling for at least 20 young people within their Youth Centers, as well as to develop Career Activities Plans for 2021.
Course speakers are career counselors, experienced HR, psychology and coaching specialists.
The course curriculum, developed on the basis of German experience, was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science and piloted within the Dnipro Career Hub Project in 2019-2020. The course graduates successfully completed their training and provided more than 400 consultations to Dnipro residents. Also, in 2020, there was a new online course enrollment of 12 consultants from different regions of Ukraine.
The course curriculum includes the following modules: 1) Basic concepts of career counseling; 2) Creating a professional profile; 3) System model of career counseling; 4) Linear model of career coaching; 5) Shaping the work of the career service of the Youth Center.
