A pilot project of the Survivor Relief Center has been launched in Borodianka to support those affected by the occupation and to prevent violence in the community.
The project aims to strengthen social cohesion in responding to gender-based violence. At the Center, survivors of war, vulnerable populations of Borodianka, and residents of other communities in the Bucha district can receive comprehensive psychosocial, legal, and informational support.
Borodianka was chosen for this pilot project for a reason. As a town that endured the horrors of war in the first months of the full-scale invasion, it is still recovering, while also serving as a refuge for hundreds of displaced people from other parts of Ukraine.
The Survivor Relief Center pilot project in Borodianka was initiated by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the support of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, in partnership with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Ireland, and in cooperation with local authorities.
