In 2023, the Ivano-Frankivsk City Territorial Community joined this project, within which training was conducted for social work specialists and psychologists from the City Center for Social Services for Families, Children, and Youth, who are part of the mobile team.

In 2023, the Ivano-Frankivsk City Center for Social Services for Families, Children, and Youth received 369 reports of domestic violence. In the first six months of 2024, the number of reports reached 244. Comparing the first half of 2023 (164 reports) with the first half of 2024, there is a one-and-a-half times increase in the number of reports.

The city has sheltered a significant number of internally displaced persons and other vulnerable groups affected by military actions. Therefore, the opening of the daycare center will be a great support for the community. The Daycare Centre is a free, accessible, and safe space where survivors of violence can receive comprehensive assistance in comfortable conditions, including:

Counseling by a psychologist and a social worker;

  • Legal counseling;
  • Social support services aimed at overcoming or minimizing the consequences of domestic and gender-based violence;
  • Information about the services of other organizations and institutions involved in preventing and combating violence.

This is the second Daycare Centre opened with Avon as part of a charitable contribution of $160,000, allocated for the creation of four social and psychological assistance centers in Irpin, Kryvyi Rih, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lutsk.

"Last year, our community joined the project "Cities and communities free from domestic violence", and conducted training for social work specialists and psychologists at the city center of social services for families, children, and youth. Now, unfortunately, it is a very difficult time, in war conditions we live under stress, and there are various situations in families, therefore the opening of this daycare centere is necessary. And it is very important that a person can come here, get advice on how to act, get the necessary help, and get out of a difficult situation." - Ruslan Martsinkiv, Mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk.

"Avon Ukraine, as a socially responsible business, cannot stand aside from the events happening around us. Supporting women and their well-being is one of the Company's priorities. In collaboration with UNFPA, we are doing everything possible to ensure that every woman feels safe and confident that she is not alone with her problem and can count on qualified help. The charitable contribution from Avon International in the amount of $160,000 will help provide even more support to survivors of violence and make this help accessible. Because a better world for women is a better world for everyone," said Marina Sukhetska, Specialist in Internal Communications and Social Corporate Responsibility at Avon Ukraine.
