UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, expresses its profound gratitude to Norway for its continued commitment to humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. We are pleased to announce Norway's additional contribution of NOK 30 million (approximately US$ 2.8 million) to UNFPA Ukraine, delivered through the Humanitarian Thematic Fund. This generous contribution will significantly bolster the delivery of life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) services across the country.

This vital funding comes at a time as Ukraine continues to grapple with severe humanitarian challenges. The ongoing war has severely damaged civilian infrastructure, including health facilities, leaving many without access to essential medical care. The war has also greatly increased the risks of gender-based violence, particularly affecting women and girls. With Norway’s support, UNFPA will be able to expand its reach, providing critical services to the most vulnerable populations, particularly women and girls in war-affected regions.

The flexibility of the Humanitarian Thematic Fund enables UNFPA to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging crises, delivering timely and comprehensive support to those in greatest need.

"This important funding ensures that those in need, especially women and girls, can access crucial SRH and GBV services even in the most challenging circumstances.
