New Life, a social enterprise, was presented in Zaporizhia on November 25. This project is being implemented for the first time in the city with the support of the UK Government under the UNFPA Ukraine Programme to Combat and Prevent Domestic and/or Gender-Based Violence with the assistance of the Ukrainian Public Health Foundation as the implementation partner and Ukrainian Business Women in Zaporizhia Region NGO.
The Implementation of Entrepreneurial Approaches to Addressing the Issue of Employment of Female Survivors of Domestic Violence Through the Creation of Social Entrepreneurship project provides for vocational training, internships and further employment. The proposed model of social entrepreneurship provided an opportunity for a new lucrative job, employment, career growth for women and, therefore, their financial stability.

New Life is currently engaged in the development and production of unique products with high-quality environmental materials, including housewares and home furnishings, arts, crafts and design products, children’s construction kits, toys, corporate branded gift baskets, etc.
The social enterprise actively cooperates with local authorities, business representatives and social services. As part of this, a memorandum for further joint efforts in this area was signed during the presentation of the project. According to Deputy Mayor Anatolii Vasiuk, who attended the event, local authorities actively cooperate with NGOs working with female survivors of abuse and violence. The so-called “Crisis Rooms” are currently being prepared for opening in Zaporizhia, and the Cozy Home Support Centre for Women and Children is already operating. In conclusion, the Deputy Mayor called on everyone to continue cooperation for the implementation of socially important projects.
The presentation of the project included a charity auction and exhibition, with all the proceeds from the sale of the provided lots used to help female survivors of abuse and violence.
