Each year, UNFPA presents its global flagship report - State of the World Population(SWOP).

In 2014, UNFPA Office in Ukraine held a presentation of the SWOP report on November 18 in Kremenchug. The theme of this year's report is "The power of 1.8 billion: adolescents, youth and the transformation of the future" (1.8 billion people in the age of 10-24 years live in the world now, which is one quarter of the world's population).

The event was attended by representatives of local authorities, youth leaders and members of youth organizations, representatives of the United Nations Population Fund.

In order to gain attention to the challenges that adolescents and young people face and communicate key information to the public, a press conference was held as a part of the presentation. During the press conference the media were informed about the main results of the report as well as about the vision of youth policy, presented by the local authorities and youth organizations.

The presentation went on with the discussion of the results of the interregional youth forum “Youth unites Ukraine” that was held in Kremenchug in September of this year and gathered around 200 young leaders from different regions of Ukraine.

The culmination of the discussion was the video conference, which brought together the events dedicated to the SWOP launch in the different countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

During a video conference, the moderator invited one country after another, so young leaders expressed their vision for the future of youth. The Ukrainian youth presented their answer to the question of video conference "Why governments should invest in young people?"
