On June 5, 2018, the Crisis Center for persons affected by domestic violence "Towards Future with Hope" opened in the refurbished premises. More than 100 women have already received assistance at the Crisis Center, which started operating as a temporary facility in 2017. The new premises are designed to accommodate the stay of 30 women (women with children) at the same time, which makes it the largest existing shelter in Ukraine.

Centers for assistance to women affected by violence (asylum) are institutions for temporary safe stay and comprehensive assistance to women who have suffered from domestic violence, if there is a threat to their life or health.

The shelter has been repaired, equipped according to the international standards and staffed by qualified specialists through joint efforts by the Kryvyi Rih City Council, UNFPA Representative Office in Ukraine and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in partnership with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.

As part of the joint project of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Kryvyi Rih, trainings were conducted for patrol police officers, social workers, educational institutions and medical facilities to raise awareness of the participants about the problem of violence and establish interdepartmental cooperation in the process of identifying and addressing gender-based violence. Altogether about 600 specialists participated in the training events since March 2017. 1,647 victims of gender-based violence in Kryvyi Rih received assistance from two mobile social and psychological assistance teams working in the city within the framework of a joint project.
