Kryvyi Rih, June 13 - CSR Ukraine, CSR Development Center expert organization jointly with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, brought together representatives of national companies and local youth in the framework of the Regional Forum BUSINESS AND YOUTH: WOW EFFECT OF COOPERATION, as well as Ukrainian Pact for Youth-2020 program.
Half a dozen young people joined the forum and, together with the HRs of national and local companies, among them Metinvest, Reikartz Hotel Group, Ukrenergo and UKRSIBBANK, worked on business case solutions, discussed current career opportunities and exchanged contacts for future collaboration.
Among the main problems of youth employment, participants identified lack of experience in finding the first job and low attention to young workers by the heads of organizations. According to them, for the first time in Kryvyi Rih, they attended such an event and got a clear understanding of how to look for a job.
Nataliya Martynenko, UN Population Program Youth Program Assistant, opened the forum and noted: “One of our priority goals is to create all the necessary conditions for young people to be able to fulfill their potential without leaving the country. Surveys show that every second young person is intending to go abroad in search of a better life. We want to stop this and enable the youth potential flourish in Ukraine".
Taras Derkach, Career Hub Coordinator at the CSR Development Center, said, “The Pact for Youth is just the first step towards youth employment in Kryvyi Rih. The Skills Lab: Your Own Business program is scheduled to open next month as a training course on building your own business. And in September, Skills Lab: A Successful Career will start to help in developing the skills needed for employment".
During the event, the Pact was solemnly signed by the M. Tugan-Baranovskyi Donetsk National Economics and Trade University. “The signing of the Pact is another great opportunity for us to promote the employment of students and graduates and make positive changes in education”, said Tetyana Kozhukhova, Vice-Rector of the University.
The HR Specialist Forum hosted a workshop "Employer Brand for the Youth", where experts shared tips on how to effectively engage Generation Z youth, maintain employees' mental health and take a family-friendly approach to the organization. In the process of solving business cases from companies, young people developed their own out-of-the-box approaches and received awards from the organizers. At the end of the event, a workshop on CV writing and preparation to the interview was held for the participants of the Forum.
For young people who want to grow their business in Kryvyi Rih, the "Skills Lab: Your Own Business" program continues until June 30. Details are available on the careerhub.in.ua website.
