The town of Borodianka, which suffered devastating destruction in the first months of the full-scale war, has been chosen for the launch of a pilot Survivor Relief Center project. The project aims to strengthen social cohesion in responding to gender-based violence. War-affected individuals and other vulnerable groups in the Bucha district can now access essential psychosocial, legal, and informational support.
Representatives from the Embassy of Ireland, together with the UNFPA team, visited Borodianka on a monitoring mission, engaging with experts and witnessing the resilience of the local community.
The Survivor Relief Center pilot project in Borodianka was initiated by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with the support of Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko, in partnership with UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with financial support from the Government of Ireland and in cooperation with local authorities.
