On October 17, 2018, a regional forum "Implementation of new mechanisms for the prevention and response to domestic and gender-based violence" was held in Mykolayiv in order to present new legislation on prevention and response to domestic and gender-based violence to representatives of the responsible authorities.
The forum was attended by Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalia Fedorovych, Deputy Representative of the United Nations Population Fund Pavlo Zamostyan, Deputy Head of the Mykolayiv Regional State Administration Yevhen Shevchenko, Deputy Mayor of Mykolayiv Volodymyr Krylenko, as well as representatives of the social services of the oblast and the responsible authorities.
Ms. Nataliya Fedorovich informed the participants about the changes in the Ukrainian legislation concerning the responsibility of the domestic violence perpetrators, the legal framework of the operation of mobile teams on social and psychological assistance to the survivors of domestic and/or gender-based violence and the procedure for the interaction of the authorities taking actions in the field of prevention and response to domestic and gender-based violence.
