During her pregnancy, Tetiana faced  serious health complications . After consultations with doctors, a decision was made for the urgent transportation of the pregnant woman to the Kyiv Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology to save the lives of both the woman and the child. This institution specializes in assisting with complicated pregnancy cases, and unfortunately, it also suffered from shelling on July 8th.

Medical specialists of the mobile gynaecological team  in the Ternopil region ensured prompt transportation and full medical support during the trip. Thanks to the high professionalism and quick response of the medical specialists, the lives of the mother and child are not in danger now.

"I have one donor kidney; both of my natural kidneys were removed.  I lost my first pregnancy due to  a circulatory disorder. During my second pregnancy, I was already under the supervision of a doctor who prescribed the necessary treatment. My pregnancy was going well, my tests and the baby were fine, only at the 33rd week my blood pressure rose. The decision was made to transfer me to Kyiv for further treatment as quickly as possible. The question was  how to transport me promptly. Around midnight, I was sent to Kyiv by the mobile gynaecological  ambulance," shares Tetiana, a patient who was urgently transported by the specialists of the mobile gynaecological team  in the Ternopil region.

"On  my way, I was accompanied by a doctor. Everything went well. We arrived quickly; we were at the Kyiv hospital around six in the morning. The doctors examined me and transferred me to the intensive care unit, and the next day, I underwent an emergency cesarean section. As soon as the baby was delivered, he immediately cried. Everything was fine. It has been two months now, and everything is back to normal. My medical transportation to Kyiv was important as I promptly received medical assistance. Thanks to this, I gave birth to my son," says Tetiana, a patient.

Mobile gynaecological teams  operate in remote areas where patients cannot reach medical facilities for timely consultations. Their assistance and prompt response are vital for preserving patients' reproductive health and lives.

"Tetiana had a very complicated pregnancy because of her health issues. During a visit to the Ternopil region, specialists from the mobile gynaecological team provided consultation and referred her for further treatment to the perinatal center, where the team  is based. Tetiana received further treatment at the perinatal center," shares Andriy, coordinator of the mobile team  in the Ternopil region.

"Without the mobile gynaecological team, we would not have been able to transport patients for  such long distances. Even though the journey lasted 8 hours, the patient was under the supervision of a medical specialist the entire way and was safely transported to the hospital. This saved the lives of Tetiana and her child," notes Andriy.

The mobile teams  operate within the framework of humanitarian response measures by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine, with financial support from the European Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Canada, France, and the Republic of Korea.
