On September 3 the first batch of hygiene kits for residents of Eastern Ukraine wasdilivered by rescuers of the State Emergency Service to Dnipropetrovsk. Some sets will be distributed within the city of Dnipropetrovsk, others - among internally displaced persons in other cities and transit points within the region.
The same mechanism of delivery and distribution will be applied to all humanitarian cargo weighing a total of 12 tonnes that has to be delivered to all regions of Ukraine. Rescuers of the State Emergency Service deliver hygiene kits to representatives of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, which together with regional representatives of the Interagency Coordinating Staff distribute these sets among IDPs.
Delivery of 19 thousand hygiene kits, worth over 2 mln UAH, is carried out in proportion to the number of internally displaced persons living in each region.
Hygiene kits were purchased by UNFPA to address the needs of IDPs from Donetsk and Lugansk regions displaced from the areas of anti-terrorism operation (ATO) that are in transit poits, as well as for temporary displaced persons who were resettled from the area of ATO to other regions of Ukraine.
