UNFPA, in partnership with Avon, is taking significant steps to address the urgent needs of gender-based violence (GBV) survivors in Ukraine. Today, we are pleased to announce Avon's generous contribution of $160,000 to establish four Daycare Counselling Centres in Irpin, Kryvyi Rih, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lutsk.
These centers will serve as a crucial lifeline for survivors and a means to break the cycle of violence.

We are not stopping there and continue our cooperation with UNFPA to provide even more support to survivors of violence. We make help accessible," said Vladymyr Nefedov, CEO of Avon in Ukraine and Georgia.
"The Daycare Counselling Centre is an entry point for survivors of gender-based violence to receive lifesaving assistance and to break the circle of violence," emphasized Massimo Diana, UNFPA Representative in Ukraine. "UNFPA, working hand in hand with its partners, is dedicated to building a nationwide system of essential GBV services and a comprehensive referral network to support those in need."
UNFPA has been working with Avon since 2019. During this time, thanks to joint efforts, we have provided assistance to survivors of domestic and gender-based violence in various formats: donating essential clothing items, disseminating information about services, and opening a crisis room in Chernihiv that provides support to survivors in the city and Chernihiv region.
The ongoing war in Ukraine has significantly heightened the risks of gender-based violence, necessitating a rapid and comprehensive response. UNFPA has been tirelessly working to scale up its efforts in this challenging environment.
During these extraordinarily difficult times, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our long-standing partner, Avon, for their much-needed contribution. This generous donation will play a vital role in ensuring that women and girls in Ukraine receive the lifesaving protection and assistance required to rebuild their lives.
