Social and advocacy event "Say No to Smoking!" was held on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, marked on 31 May

Public event "Say No to Smoking!" was aimed at preventing smoking among youth, promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging youth to spend more time for sports activities and refuse of bad habits. It was initiated by the Department of Family, Children and Youth, Kremenchuk City Center for Social Services for Family, Children and Youth together with Kremenchuk Youth Parliament and with support of UNFPA office in Ukraine.

On the day of the event, the venue was crowded. Parents with children who came to their favorite rest spots gladly participated in the event "Say No to Smoking!" Organizers exchanged 4 kg of sweets for cigarettes, another 3 kg of sweets were handed out to those who do not have bad habits. Volunteers of Kremenchuk Youth Parliament interviewed people on the topic of "Consequences of smoking" and distributed 400 stickers "I do not smoke. I am cool" and booklets about the negative effects of smoking. More than 300 people took pictures with a sign "I do not smoke."

At the end of the event the volunteers released balloons with 202 cigarettes that were voluntarily abandoned by the participants of the event.
