"VONA hub" is the project implemented by UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine. The project aims to develop the professional potential and financial capacity of women who have suffered from domestic/gender-related violence or are in the risk group.
The name of the "VONA" career hub consists of the first letters of 4 words (in Ukrainian) - Free, Winged, Independent, and Ambitious. The teams of the "VONA" career hubs are working to make women feel that way. Hubs have already been opened in Dnipro, Lviv, Uzhhorod, and the Kyiv region.
The project of a career hub for women was created in 2020 and worked only online on the website platform https://www.vonahub.org.ua. During this period, about 3,000 individual consultations were provided by career counselors.
Due to the full-scale invasion of Russia in February 2022, the number of women in the zone of increased risk of experiencing violence became IDP, and do not have technical opportunities for training or writing resumes, has increased. Therefore the project entered a new stage of development - the creation of local offline hubs in the cities of Ukraine.
