UNFPA welcomed The Duchess of Edinburgh to the Survivor Relief Centre in Kyiv to express her support for war-affected Ukrainians, including survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.
Her Royal Highness spoke to visitors and specialists at the Centre about the challenges they face on a daily basis. Since 2019, The Duchess of Edinburgh has been actively supporting the UK government's initiatives to support survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and raise awareness of such cases.
We are grateful to Her Royal Highness and the UK Government for their attention to the work of such important services. At the Survivor Relief Centres, which currently operate in 12 cities of Ukraine, all people affected by war, including survivors of conflict-related sexual violence, can receive social, psychological, legal and informational support unconditionally, free of charge and confidentially.
