The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) extends its gratitude to Norway for its ongoing support and collaboration. With Norway's generous contribution of NOK 35 million (approximately US$ 3.3 million), channeled via UNFPA's Humanitarian Thematic Fund, at the end of 2023, UNFPA is further empowered to sustain its humanitarian activities throughout Ukraine.
This funding bolsters UNFPA's mission to provide life-saving sexual and reproductive health (SRH) and gender-based violence (GBV) services. Collaborating closely with the Government of Ukraine and local civil society, including women-led organizations, UNFPA is dedicated to addressing the urgent needs of those in conflict-affected regions, ensuring timely and impactful humanitarian aid.
The Humanitarian Thematic Fund, known for its flexibility, facilitates immediate and effective response strategies, enhancing the humanitarian-development-peace nexus crucial for long-term development and peacebuilding efforts.

The medical specialists at these clinics provide specialized medical assistance in the Kherson and Donetsk regions. Additionally, Norway supports the work of 28 Psychosocial support mobile teams that provide support to survivors of gender-based violence and psychological support in crisis situations in 16 regions of Ukraine.
Massimo Diana, UNFPA Representative in Ukraine, expressed deep gratitude towards Norway's substantial support. "This contribution from Norway is a game-changer for the women and girls in Ukraine, ensuring their access to vital SRH and GBV services during these turbulent times," he stated. Massimo Diana highlighted the importance of this partnership in upholding the dignity and rights of women and girls amidst the ongoing conflict.
