UNFPA Ukraine is starting a video campaign «Not trivia in relations” for youth

Four short video clips demonstrate the signs of psychological violence in the relations, including excessive jealousy, over-extending control, manipulation and pressure. Video clips urge to pay attention to the partner’s words and behavior, which are frustrating, disturbing or embarrassing, as these may mean something more serious than just “little things”. Video clips are a part of the “Break the Circle” campaign intended to foster zero tolerance to violence.

UNFPA, UN Population Fund, is the first in Ukraine to focus on the topic of healthy and toxic relations in the video campaign format.  Numerous successful cases of similar projects in the USA and Australia demonstrate that it’s the approach which may be called a preventive communication in combating gender-based violence among the youth.

"The “Break the Circle” information campaign was created to overcome gender-based violence in 2015. Now a new stage has started, and the first video campaign was launched about little trivia in relationships. We want to talk with young people about early manifestations of toxic relationships, help them recognize their feelings and build healthy bonds with their male or female partner", said Pavlo Zamostyan, Assistant Representative of UNFPA Ukraine.
