A shelter for women who have expericed violence opens in Sloviansk

AThis shelter will become a safe space where women who have suffered domestic, sexual or gender-based violence, will have a chance to take time and receive necessary psychological andsocialsupport to rebuild their own inner resources and to decide what to do regarding further life.

A press conference on the occasion of the opening of the shelter takes place  on February 7 at 5:50 PM at the conference hall of the Donetsk Regional State Administration (Kramatorsk, Olexiy Tikhogo Street, build. 6).

Accreditation for the media before 5:00 PM February 6, is required – register via the link.

The press conference will be participated by:

  • Pavlo Zhebrivsky, Head of The Donetsk Regional State Administration, Head of The Regional Military and Civil Administration;
  • Berend de Groot, Head of сooperation with the EU Delegation to Ukraine;
  • Janthomas Hiemstra,UNDP Ukraine Country Director;
  • Caspar Peek,UNFPA Representative to Ukraine;
  • Victor Voropayev, Deputy Mayor of The Slaviansk City Council;
  • Yuriy Balabolka, Director of The Donetsk Regional Center for Social Services for Families, Children and Youth;
  • Maryna Glushchenko, Executive Director of the NGO “League of Social Workers”.

 shelter for women will be opened in Sloviansk - a center for social and psychological assistance to people who have experienced violence.
